Our Mini Restaurant Guide—5 Hot Eateries In Vegas

21 Sep

1. Atelier de Joël Robuchon

French cooking maestro (aka “Chef of the Century”) Robuchon has two restaurants at the MGM Grand – his eponymous upscale eatery, Joël Robuchon, and the less expensive – but equally exquisite – Atelier, which offers the same gorgeous French cuisine with a more casual atmosphere (you can peer into the open kitchen from the counter while you eat). Try the tasting menu for $155 a person or opt for à la carte selections like fresh meat and fish. C’est truly magnifique!

2. Burger Bar

There’s no better find than a great burger joint, and Hubert Keller’s Burger Bar offers a relaxed dining experience with custom-made gourmet burgers (with beef, buffalo, turkey, vegetarian, and vegan patty options) starting at $8.25. Go posh with the $60 Rossini burger (Kobe beef, foie gras, shaved truffles), try the Surf & Turf burger with grilled lobster and Black Angus and even indulge in a burger for dessert – choose from chocolate, peanut butter and jelly, or cream cheesecake.

3. Alex

For freshly sourced seasonal and organic fare, look no further than Alex, where you can indulge in tasty dishes while enjoying an opulent culinary experience, starting with your entrance into the dining room via a sweeping downward staircase. In addition to winning accolades for French-Italian style dishes like roasted scallops with asparagus, pink grapefruit and sea urchin, and prawns with yellow squash and zucchini blossoms, don’t miss out on the spectacular wine list, which has over 950 bottles on offer. Choose from the 5-course tasting menu ($195) or 3-course prix-fixe selection ($145).

4. Koi Las Vegas

West Coast influences combined with Japanese cuisine and Asian-inspired décor are what you’ll find at this restaurant and lounge. In addition to a great sushi selection with plenty of signature rolls, highlights include Kobe Beef filet mignon toban-yaki, Yellowtail carpaccio with grapeseed oil, ponzu and wasabi tobi, and Miso-bronzed black cod with seasonal vegetables. After dinner, relax and sip cocktails in the lounge before getting ready for a night on the town.

Feast on modern American fare at Michael Mina’s Mandalay Bay outpost. From shellfish and caviar to a meat lover’s paradise (an 18 oz. rib-eye, a 30 oz. Porterhouse and a 16 oz. Kansas City Strip are just a few of the options on offer), there are also great side dishes to accessorize your mains, from a potato purée trio to bacon creamed spinach and mac-and-cheese. Stylish Snaps From Our Party With Interview At Clic Gallery

15 Sep

Last night, the city was a-buzz with Fashion Week parties, so we wanted to switch it up and inject a little art amid the frock fetes. To get into the creative groove, we teamed up with Interview magazine to host a reception for “Andy Dandy,” the Hilton Brothers’ latest exhibition, at Soho’s uber-edgy Clic Gallery. The show, which runs until October 3, features Christopher Makos and Paul Solberg’s photographs—Marko’s stark, black-and-white, pics of Andy Warhol in gender-bender poses,  contrasted with Solberg’s stunning shots of live flowers. The diptychs were as gorg as the crowd—who mingled with the crazily dressed artists, sipped some strong vodka, and took a break from the runway.

Until October 3, Clic Gallery, 255 Centre Street (at Broome Street); 212-219-9308

Winter Preview! 4 New 7 Footwear Styles To Start Pining For

14 Sep
Though we’re still enjoying the last of our sunny sandal-wearing days (at least over here on the East Coast!), we’re still getting ourselves geared up for all the wantable shoe styles to come from 7 For All Mankind this winter. Among our favorites to add to our wishlist: The Rogue ($235), a gorgeous leather bootie-sandal hybrid on a sturdy platform heel. The Gus ($220), a funky fold-over bootie with a wonderfully wearable heel. The Margot (above, $195), a little suede jazz shoe in the perfect pinky-red (we’re obsessed!).  And the Rhett ($220), the ultimate strappy high heel we can’t wait to wear with some cozy tights. Though these styles won’t be available for a bit, we’re already factoring them into our winter wardrobe lineup. We suggest you do the same!

Miley Cyrus Rocks The Roxanne To Perfection

14 Sep
We recently got wind of this snap of singer/actress/entertainer extraordinaire Miley Cyrus sporting our Roxanne jeans, and we love the laid-back look. This slim-fitting classic is the perfect specimen for DIYing with your own slashes and shreds (just like Miley). Try them for fall with your best beat-up combats or a pair of treaded platforms for a more dressed-up denim look.

Bottoms Up! The New Trouser Tops Our Shopping List For Fall

13 Sep

For 10 years, we’ve been perfecting the art of the jean, so we think that our long denim education will serve us well in our newest fixation for fall: The Trouser (the star of the show for FNO). But not just one trouser. We’ve got cool cuts for every girl and every shape, from low-rise to a tailored wide-leg. And whether you’re doing some Sunday lounging or have a date with a dirty martini, we’ve got you covered—with over 14 styles, there’s no occasion where you can’t wear our trousers.

Here are three pairs fashioned for heavy rotation this fall (from left).

1. Georgia Trouser: We’re in love with the high-waist and super wide-leg fit (so ’70s in a good way!).

2. Miller Trouser: We think this sexy low-rise pair will take the top-spot in your closet for Date Night.

3. Pleated Trouser: We’re taking our new 4-pocket trouser and adding tailored front pleating, a double-buttoned closure, and a rolled hem for a cutting-edge look we think will work great in the boardroom or the bar.
