Gen Art Film Festival Kicks Off

26 May

And action!  We’ve been huge fans of Gen Art for the past few years – supporting their knack for discovering emerging film talent and establishing themselves as a leader in the NYC film festival industry.  So we hosted a VIP launch party at our Soho store Tuesday night for the 16th Anniversary of the Gen Art Film Festival.  Of course the party came complete with celebrity appearances, film directors, and socialite attendees.  Notable guests included: party host and actress Lake Bell, actresses Anna Chlumsky and Yolonda Ross, and directors Craig Macneill, Victoria Mahoney, and JC Koury.  Party pics are posted below!

The actual festival starts Wednesday June 8th with director Jonathan Sobol’s comedy A Beginner’s Guide To Endings at the historic Ziegfeld Theatre, followed by a week of film premiers each night ending June 14th.  Each premier is accompanied by an after-party where attendees get to rub elbows with filmmakers at NYC’s top nightclubs including Avenue, The Chelsea Room, and The Griffin – to name a few.  Full festival tickets are available for $150 while individual tickets will run you $30 ($35 for opening night).  Tickets include a pre-reception in the theater, the movie, and access to the after party.  All receptions and after-parties include sponsored bars generously provided by Disaronno, Brancott Estate Wines, and ABSOLUT® VODKA.  With a deal like this tickets get snatched up quickly, so click here to buy now.

Overall, the lineup of films and talent is rather impressive.  Visit Gen Art’s website for a complete listing of movies premiering at the festival.  Hope to see you there!
