When blogger and 7 For All Mankind Dreaming in Blue influencer, Aimee Song, chose Catalina Island as her dream destination, she had two things in mind – great food and big adventure.

The ever-stylish Aimee couldn’t have chosen a better location to accomplish both, as well as flaunt a mix of chic, easy and island friendly denim to go with her favorite designer accessories.

Much like Aimee herself, Catalina is oozing with charm due to the quaint Victorian-style architecture and the no cars allowed policy. People zip around the island on golf carts and unsurprisingly, Aimee didn’t miss a beat when trying the local custom.

“Since it’s such a small island, most people drive around with golf carts and it’s so cute to see all the golf carts parked in front of the houses.” She says.

Between the golf carts, colorful buildings and ocean side eateries, the vibe of the island is incredibly eclectic and laid back – perfect for the versatile wardrobe Aimee packed for her long weekend.

She sported beach appropriate Mid Rise Ankle Skinny With Faux Leather Trim in White and city ready Fashion Pieced Skinny in Black Jeather & Denim, with cozy knits and summery sandals and espadrilles, while strolling around the island.

Even during her zip-lining excursion, a pair of Slim Illusion Skinnies in Powder Blue served as part of her cute and durable road trip uniform.

“Zip lining was great and allows you to see the beautiful scenery.” Says Aimee. “Once you are up there looking at the gorgeous view, you completely forget about the height.”

As a well-deserved reward for her bravery, Aimee indulged in the local fare, which is includes a lot of the fresh seafood caught near by.

A self-proclaimed foodie, Aimee’s palette is well versed in great southern California cuisine and the meals she had while in Catalina proved on par with the best she’s ever had.

“Everywhere I ate had really good food.” Says Aimee. “The crab artichoke dip at the Bluewater Avalon was my favorite! Also the lobster dish at Lobster Trap was amazing.”

It’s just a boat ride away, but in many ways, Catalina can feel like a far off land, one that certainly inspired Aimee to keep dreaming and explore unchartered water.

“I grew up in California yet I’ve never had a chance to visit Catalina Island.” She says. “It’s so close, yet you feel like you’re in a completely different country. It was definitely a dream destination for me.”
